Visual Metronome is Fantastic!

H Charlie,

Just wanted to touch base again and say thanks for the great piece of software! Again..

It really is so very good and I felt it needed a new post just to say so.

Plus I was interested to know if there are any new features coming up/in the wings, and if you wanted any beta testing of anything?

I'm more than happy to help out and to provide detailed reports.

Hi Joe,

The next version (3.0) will be a Universal app... it looks great on the iPad when it's not just double sized. The other major change will be the ability to place accents on any subdivision (up to 64th notes). There will also be some bug fixes. I'm looking at trying to implement os4 multitasking, but that might have to wait until 3.1. I'm really hoping to have it done soon... it's taken me a lot longer than I thought it would to finish. I would like to have it done in the next couple of weeks.

This sounds really good! I'm wondering if the ability to place different accents for each subdivision is going to be available on every beat?

Ie: Select Subdivision--->Select Beat--->Edit subdivision for that particular beat (place accents)--->Select a different beat--->Edit Subdivision for that particular beat etc etc?

Or if it will be something like: Select subdivision-->Create accents etc--->And then every beat will perform the same subdivision accents etc?

Along these lines I have a feature request:

Currently, in order to hear a subdivision, the user needs to make a beat occur (accented or not, it needs to be selected). But what if a user wanted to have the beat subdivided into quavers for example but not have the first of the quavers sound at all... Will the new feature listed above make this possible?

To possibly repeat a previous feature request, the ability to have a different subdivision each beat would be really good.

Also, a feature request, again, it is one that may not be a popular idea but here goes:

Would it be possible to add a random element in to the subdivision selection? For example, select the range of possible subdivisions (semiquavers to septuplets) and then when you press play, each beat will randomly select a subdivision within that range?

Keep up the great work!
